The Hummingbird Centre (formerly O'Keefe Centre) was built in 1960 as a centre for the performing arts. With 3,223 seats in its multi-purpose theatre, it is the largest facility of its kind in Canada. It is home to the Canadian Opera Company, The National Ballet of Canada, and Hummingbird Centre Presents, which features touring Broadway shows, international modern and classical dance companies, family attractions, new music, comedy and variety acts.
